It is great to hear how Airglove is making it easier and most importantly less painful to cannulate patients at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Oncology Day Unit.
“It can sometimes be very challenging to find veins when patients are undergoing cancer treatment.
That’s why we’ve funded new equipment at St Bartholomew’s Hospital’s Oncology Day Unit to make it easier – and, most importantly, less painful – for patients. The vein finding and AirGlove devices are making a big difference on the unit by making it much easier for nurses to find veins. This means fewer attempts and less pain and anxiety for patients”.
One patient said: “I usually find it very difficult when they try to put the cannula in, and it can be painful. This time the nurse used the warming device [AirGlove] and it worked straight away. The cannula didn’t hurt, and it was perfect. I felt so happy and comfortable.”
