We were delighted to speak with SACT Clinical Director Donna Grimshaw who had previously used Airglove in two NHS Trusts (Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust and York Teaching Hospital Trust), with experience of significantly improved outcomes compared to vein-finder devices.

Difficult intravenous (IV) access remains a persistent challenge across many clinical environments, contributing to delays in treatment, multiple cannulation attempts, and reduced patient satisfaction. Nova Healthcare, working in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, evaluated the Airglove warming system as a standardised method to improve venous dilation prior to cannulation. This case study outlines the clinical rationale, evaluation process, and observed benefits following Airglove implementation.
