We were delighted to hear about the go fund me page set up by June Murphy to help support her daughter’s best friend Shauni Lambie who is receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma at Crosshouse Hospital, Ayrshire.

June said: “My daughter’s friend Shauni has been battling cancer for four years. Seeing her arms bruised and sore from repeated needle attempts was heart breaking. Sadly, this is common for many cancer patients with damaged or hard-to-find veins. Shauni rarely speaks of her illness, she just shares her positive attitude on social media, and spends time with her best friend Katie, my daughter. The two worked together for years at Morrisons. She’s one of the most beautiful people you’ll ever meet. She’s full of life, always smiling, and never lets her illness define her.”
As soon as we heard about this project initiated by June, we reached out to have a conversation and we decided to accept £1,040 that had already been raised, in such a short space of time and match the difference. The speed of the raise was amazing and we had to match the passion that June demonstrated. The Airglove device will be used at the oncology ward at Crosshouse hospital.
Shauni added: “Patients like me end up with severely damaged veins due to treatment and we’re ending up black and blue with them trying”.
Our mission at Airglove is to positively impact the lives of patients, in a small but mighty way. Protecting precious veins is vital through a treatment journey, which has a physical and mental impact. We want to balance the scales through vein preparation and reducing anxiety.
